The health system in Cuba

Thanks to a reorganisation in the sixties, Cuba has today (in contrast to some other Caribbean and Latin-American states) an excellent national health system.
Numerous polyclinics throughout the land provide medical first aid, and every large town additionally has its own hospital.
Most large hotels also have a sanatorium for their guests but travellers must pay for their own treatment costs.
Therefore it is prudent to check your health insurance cover abroad before starting your trip.

No special vaccinations are necessary for Cuba.
