Restaurants, cafés and bars

You can also eat well outside the hotels of course. Numerous restaurants with different specialities can be found in all large towns. The variety of the menus extends from typical Creole delicacies such as arroz congri (rice with black beans) and suckling pig to freshly-caught fish and lobster and Italian or Asian dishes. There are also Rapidos, fast-food kiosks, where you can get a hamburger or French fries. Also popular are the Paladares, little private restaurants with only 12 seats at which you can get delicious meals and good service in a family atmosphere. Particularly worth mentioning is Cuban ice-cream and the famous ice-cream parlour, the Coppelia in the heart of Havana.
